About RPNA

Our History

Over the years, RPNA has played a crucial role in securing resources, influencing policy decisions, and fostering meaningful community engagement. Notable accomplishments include:

  • 2016: RPNA expanded membership by opening meetings to all residents and adopting a "Building-Model" for broader representation.
  • 2017: Successfully held delegate elections across all 31 Regent Park buildings, electing 62 delegates. A 10-member leadership team was formed, equally representing TCH and market buildings.
  • 2018-2019: Responded to community demands by establishing the Regent Park Community Benefits Coalition (CBC) and securing a community benefits framework. RPNA worked with TCH to ensure resident input in selecting a developer for Phases 4 & 5. Launched four major SDP committees: Safety, Employment & Entrepreneurship, Community-Building, and Communication.
  • 2020-2021: Partnered with key organizations to negotiate a Community Benefits Oversight Working Group, overseeing $26M in community benefits for Phases 4 & 5.
  • 2022: RPNA was officially incorporated, and the Community Benefits Oversight Working Group was formally established.

Through these initiatives and ongoing efforts, RPNA remains committed to creating a vibrant, inclusive, and empowered community in Regent Park.
